a quick little getaway

2 weeks ago mikael told me that he might need a change of scenery and of course i obliged. in fact, i needed one too. i wanted to finally visit ystad but that was a bit too far away this weekend.

so, last friday mikael took the afternoon off and we drove about 45 minutes south to spend the night in helsingborg. the weather was a bit cold, but beautiful sunshine awated us as we first strolled around the city.

all of a sudden it got much colder, so we had to tuck matilda in a bit better.. :)

dinner was spent at a greek restaurant. it was the first time we went to a fancy place with matilda - and she did so well! she was sitting in her high chair, smiling to everybody :)

helsingborg is right at the sea across from denmark, you can even see it in the background in the picture above. {this is actually the view from our hotel room on saturday morning!} it was pretty exciting seeing the ferries drive in and cars getting out/driving in - we have also done this so many times before. it was like a movie for matilda, she could have stood on the window bench and watched for hours :) 

this was the first time for matilda sleeping in a travel crib and staying at a hotel and she did so well! she usually sleeps at 7.30/8.00 pm but as we got in a bit later, i tried to put her down at 8.30. at first she couldn't relax (i blame it on the new surroundings) but when i took her to the dark bathroom and rocked her for about 5 minutes, she was sound asleep and i was able to just put her in her bed where she slept until 6.30 am the next day with only one binky break!

saturday morning we made sure to cuddle in bed for a long time and have a nice breakfast.

i am not trying to be a fashion blogger, but i wanted to show off my new blouse which i l o v e and that i was able to wear my converse again!

this trip made me long for vacation with my little family. they really are the best.
{and i need more pictures of the three of us together!}
