*warning, this post doesn't contain super pretty pictures :)
when i was pregnant with matilda i gained 30 kilos (66 pounds) most of it water. but, to be honest, it was not all water.. i had a hard time finding food that i really enjoyed eating and i used the excuse "i'll loose it all with hard training once the baby is born".. also, one of my major cravings was ice cream..

| the day after matilda was born |
well, 8 months later i have lost 27 kilos (59 pounds), mostly and thankfully through breastfeeding. i haven't really had the energy in the beginning or drive to exercise. and now i feel bad about it as i could have lost much more if i had eaten right or exercised from an early start.
but now that i am stopping breastfeeding i need to get into shape again.

| this was me on monday |
i want to fit properly into all of my pre-pregnancy clothes (i miss my cute skirts!) again and want to be in better shape for the next pregnancy.
so, this week i started eating healthy again, with a diet that has helped me lose weight last time, it's called isodiet, where you eat an equal amount of carbs, proteins and vegetables every meal. it has easy, healthy and tasty recipes and works for me.
my goal is to keep the diet, eat a little bit of candy on friday evening and go for long power walks with matilda at least 3 times a week.
the photo below was taken on our caribbean cruise in april 2010 where i weighed 66 kilos (145 pounds) and that is what i want to look like again :) i realize that my body has changed, but i know it's possible and losing 10 kilos is not that hard.
i want to document my journey on the blog (partly also because i want to be held accountable :)) and will do so every friday but reporting my current weight and how my goal keeping has been.
so, on monday i weighed 76 kilos (167,5 pounds). let's see what tomorrow brings.
see you tomorrow! :)

rooting for you!!
ReplyDeleteHey Senja,
Lg, maria
I just want to say that you look great in your "before" pictures! I've lost a ton of weight, but my belly still looks like it had a BIG baby in it. I had to stop crunches because of the abdominal separation. Good luck with your goal! I'll be rooting for you!
ReplyDeleteYay Senja! I lost 40 pounds last year after having Fritz and it was so liberating and I'm in better shape now than I was before I had kids. :) You're right! You CAN do it! Balanced carbs and protein is what really helped me. Also eating small portions, six times a day and getting in your daily exercise. By the way, I LOVE your short hair in that picture. You are beautiful in every way!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Sorry I'm so behind on commenting. It seems like you posted a lot lately and I didn't think I had gone that long without checking! Eek!
Thank you Elizabeth! And no worries, you have been busy with your move! :) I'm losing slowly right now, but I am getting there. It's all about commitment and routine which I am building up now.
DeleteYes, short hair is really "my thing" and I feel most prettiest like that. But I want to have it a bit longer now before I cut it again.. That day will come though.. :)
